Jew Jewelry ~ Cheap Jewish Gift Ideas

I told a friend of mine I was writing an article about cheap Jewish gifts, and the first words she blurted out were "Cheap? Jews don't want cheap". This led for a hilarious conversation, because while the generalization is a bit much, it is mostly true. Unfortunately there are quite a few of us #BrokeJews! So we want to get nice stuff, that looks expensive without the high dollar price tag!

So I went on the hunt for affordable Jewish jewelry that didn't look so cheap. My thought for cheap Jewish jewelry is usually between $25 and $50. Any less than $25 would probably LOOK cheap! So I pass on most of those items. I was happy to find lots of cute items. Way more than I expected. Here are the top 3 I found.

Jewish Gifts ~ Jew Jewelry

Out of the top 3 pieces this beautiful yet simple ring is the first one I have actually bought, though the other 2 are on my list for 'Buy ASAP'. I have had this ring about 2 weeks now and the only time it has come off my finger was long enough to have gallbladder surgery, and even went back on my finger on the car ride home.

This is an 18K Gold plated Judaica ring.I love that it is imported directly from Israel. My Hebrew needs a bit of work, I am not 100% sure what it says and only can read part of it, but the website says it says 'May G-d Bless You and Keep You'. I think it more accurately may say 'May Lord Bless You and Keep You'. At $29.88 it fits the cheap Jewish gifts list in my head, and it is a beautiful enough Jewish ring that it is certainly a well spent $30!

This sterling silver Star of David necklace is simply gorgeous! The jewelry is a perfect cheap Jewish gift. The pendant showcases a classic elegant design featuring a filigree Star of David charm sparkling with beautiful Cubic Zirconia stones that decorate this unique pendant. Get it for your friend, family member, or treat yourself for a classic timeless style. The Star of David charm is a must have piece for most Jewish women. So for $29.99 this cheap Jewish gift is a sure thing for almost anyone!

This Silver Judaica Charm Bracelet with hearts and Star of David is an adorable cheap Jewish gift idea for the young person in your life. It isn't over the top religious. It's something beautiful yet young and fun, so it is perfect for the young woman or daughter in your life, but don't cut this product short, I know plenty of Jewish women in the 50+ age group that would love the whimsy of this piece! At $40 this is the perfect cheap Jewish gift.

So now you have a bracelet, a necklace, and a beautiful ring which are all affordable. When looking for cheap Jewish gift ideas always remember to look for products that are not so cheap that they will turn green on someone within a few days. Look for Gold plated or Sterling Silver. Hopefully one of these three picks will be the right cheap Jewish gift for your friend or loved one!

Cooking Raw Almonds ~ Roasting Almonds at Home

Organic Almonds are a wonderful healthy product. They are not only tasty, but a food that is wonderful for us. Out of all of the tree nuts almonds are one of the healthiest options.

Almonds are said to be good for:

Fighting Alzheimers

Fighting Diabetes

Reducing the risks of getting heart disease

Maintaining a healthy weight

 Eliminating IBS symptoms

Ingredients:

4 Cups Almonds

1 1/2 Tablespoons Hot Water

1 1/2 Tablespoons Sea Salt

 Roasting Raw Almonds:

Preheat Oven to 375 degrees

Combine hot water and salt

Add Almonds to bowl

Pour salt water mixture over almonds

Mix to coat all almonds thoroughly

Spread almonds evenly on baking sheet

Cook 15 to 20 minutes

Remove and cool

These are a tasty treat. You can add additional seasoning as you like. We use garlic powder sometimes. Other times we add a bit of soul seasoning or Cajun seasoning. Eat these and enjoy the health benefits of them! Starting with raw organic almonds is best. This is a great brand.

Countertop Makeover Idea ~ Peel and Stick

As we remodel this piece of crap place we got last year we are figuring out some thing need to get pushed back on the schedule. The more costly things that are cosmetic can wait. We can put a bandaide of such on them. This is what we decided to do with some of our kitchen countertops.

We had looked at a couple of options. One was to paint the countertops. After looking through many articles, I decided we were just not skilled enough to accomplish this. So the next option was peel and stick style wallpaper. I got the opportunity to try out some of this peel and stick wallpaper that was heat resistant. I figured it was worth a shot.

What You Should Know About This Mosaic Wall Paper:

  • This Wall or Counter paper is made of Eco-friendly Vinyl material with a special Mosaic pattern.

  • The surface of it is anti oil, waterproof, durable, and it can withstand high temperatures.

  • Suitable for living room, bedroom, kitchen, furniture, TV wall, bedroom wall, back ground, office, store, coffee house etc decoration.

  • Removable, no harm to your walls or counters.

  • Non-toxic

  • No fading

I was very happy at how well this stuck to our existing counter. It is a 2 person job, since this has been folded up so long it will need one person to hold the section out, and the other person to apply it to the counters. If you have a level or a wooden ruler you can easily use it to flatten this to the counters.

This has squares and lines on the back for easy cutting, so you won't have any issues cutting it the correct way.  I am very happy with how this turned out. The counters are now beautiful and I am happy to leave them like this while we finish the rest of the house. If you want to get your own counter wall paper you can find it here.

Easy Banana Nut Bread Muffins ~ Only 6 Ingredients

Easy Banana Bread Muffins are a big tasty treat in our house. We use to just make my easy banana bread loafs, but since having 3 children muffins are just easier to do.

Ingredients You'll Need to Make This Easy Banana Nut Bread Muffin Recipe:

1 Stick of Butter, Melted

1 Cup of Sugar

1 1/4 Cups of Self Rising Flour

2 Eggs

3 Ripe Bananas

1/2 Cup Walnuts

Cooking Utensils Needed:

Bowl

Large Spoon

Potato Masher (Optional)

Muffin Pan

Baking Cups

Directions For Cooking These Easy Banana Nut Bread Muffins:

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees

In large bowl combine the butter, eggs, and sugar well

Add Bananas- Mash until smooth, Potato masher works well for this. If you want super smooth bananas blend them in a blender then add to them, but mashing works perfectly.

Add flour a little at a time until completely mixed and mostly smooth.

Dump in your Walnuts. Try to mix so that they are evenly distributed through the mix.

Fill your Baking Cups 3/4 full. I bought awesome silicone cups because they are reusable and non stick. Plus they look a lot better and the kids like them.

Bake for 20 minutes

Ready when you insert a toothpick or fork and it comes out clean.

I've been making these banana nut muffins for a while. Always being so busy with my children, having a quick go to recipe for something they love is a must! I try to make it as easy as possible. I am a huge fan of the silicone muffin cups, as I am sure you can tell. They are one of my favorite kitchen items. They make my life easier and beautify my kitchen at the same time. Plus it makes it easy to tell who already had their muffins. For such a cheap price they are awesome, and I never have to buy the flimsy paper cups again.

These banana nut muffins are delicious! There are a lot of variations to this recipe. You can substitute other types of nuts, add pecans or crushed almonds. You can add a small amount of vanilla. You can even throw some blueberries in if they are in season. This recipe will get you started. Now you can follow it or get creative!

The seller let me try out these silicone baking cups in exchange for my honest opinion on them. Even if I would have paid full price I would have the same opinion because I think these are amazing. If they were awful, I would say so, but these are great and I love them!

Understanding Google Adsense ~ Making Money With Google Ads

With so many new people coming to blogs, understanding how to make money is a great place to get started. So what is Google Adsense? Google Adsense is a simple way to earn money through ads displayed on your webpage.

Google Adsense allows you to customize ads on your blog. You can pick small side bar ads, banners to be displayed at the top or bottom of your blog, or large full side bar ads. Adsense allows you to pick the type advertisers that can be in the ads, and allows you to block topics that you are not comfortable showing on your blog. I won't pretend to be an expert on the subject. I just have some years of experience dealing with Google Adsense. So I will offer the advice I know.

Can Anyone Get Google Adsense?

No! Google is not going to approve just anyone. They have standards. Without these standards, any ole person who wants to get ads and be spammy could get one, and that is not google's plan!

Google makes the guidelines. You follow them or they don't approve you. If you are deciding to get into the blog world do us all a favor, Don't get into this if you are going to half ass your writing. You need to figure out what quality is here in the blogging world before dragging yourself down. Sellers won't care how many followers you have if you aren't getting any page views. So learn now, so you can get approved for Adsense and make money long term by gaining lots of traffic to your blog.

So How Do I Get Approved For Adsense?

Write Quality Content -

If you think writing short 100-200 word posts is quality, it is not. In fact ideally every article you write, about a product or anything else, should be at least 500 words. In my 7 years writing online I have found my most profitable articles are more than 800 words. Lazy short writing isn't going to help you any. If you are writing for the sake of getting sponsors it will make you look like a newbie or make sponsors question your ability to write about their products.

Also check your spelling and overall grammar. It doesn't need to be perfect. I know mine isn't, but it should be easy to read, and it must be understandable.

Never Copy and Paste -

Not only is this a sign of a poor writer, it is also copyright infringement. You can actually get into a good bit of trouble doing this. It is stealing. Digital content is no different than real life items. If you wouldn't walk into Wal-Mart and steal, then don't do it online. This applies to writings and pictures.

Have Enough Content -

In the blogger world there is a lot of speculation about how much content is 'enough'. Some say 6 long quality articles, others say 20 articles. Google has not and probably never will answer the question of how many articles you should have. However a good estimate is to have at least 20 quality articles before applying.

Don't write 20 articles in 3 days and expect to get approved though. Google does seem to prefer sites that have been 'aged' a bit before approving them. I've heard it is best to wait at least 6 weeks before even applying. So give it some time. Wait. Write more quality content. Learn about SEO. Learn about picking the correct keywords.

What Next?

Once you have met these requirements then you can apply for Google Adsense. Don't get discouraged if you get turned down on the first try. Many writers do. Just go back and work on these key points a bit more.

Everything about writing online will require some work. Anyone who thinks making money blogging is simple has probably never actually been profitable. People who are quick to say 'Oh just blog about it' really irk me. The average person knows nothing about writing online. So they have to learn about proper writing techniques, keywords/seo, ad companies, and html.

So if you are denied, don't be too let down. Keep learning, keep writing, and keep improving your writing techniques. If Google Adsense doesn't work out you can always try working with a different ad partner.

Are Ear and Forehead Thermometers Accurate?

I will be the first to say that there is no way I have ever trusted ear thermometers. When I was 10 years old I was rushed to the emergency room with many symptoms. The nurse took my temperature via ear. When it came up with no fever, my mother quickly asked for a regular thermometer. See she had taken my temp in the car, just minutes before, with a regular mouth thermometer. The nurse complained, but did retake my temperature. I had a fever of 103. This made me stop trusting anything but a regular under the tongue thermometer.

When I got the opportunity to try out an ear and forehead thermometer in exchange for my honest opinion I was a bit excited. I finally got to try out one of these things for myself. Now that I am grown with 3 kids of my own I was looking forward to trying it out on them.

Getting this iProven thermometer was perfect timing. Every year when my daughter gets her vaccinations she becomes sick. It's like her immune system gets temporarily weakened since this is the only time of year she gets sick. Sure enough this arrived 2 days after she got her shots, and right on schedule for me to start worrying about her.

iProven Ear Thermometer ~ Information They Want You To Know:

  • CONSISTENT AND RELIABLE temporal Forehead Thermometer with Ear Thermometer function (Dual Mode). This is giving you the easiest and most practical way to take a temperature.
  • Clinical Thermometer - Clinically calibrated for medical use. Delivers temperature readings with Unfailing Accuracy and very fast.
  • PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL EQUIPMENT - Trusted by Pediatricians and Medical Professionals, this thermometer is the #1 CLINICALLY Tested and SECURE solution no matter the age of your patient.
  • HASSLE FREE - With just 2 buttons, Head and Ear, this electronic thermometer is very easy to use. The thermometer reads in 1 second and a loud enough beep will notify you it is done. It comes with fever alarm, it requires no covers and the last 20 readings can be easily recalled.

    37.0 Degrees C is 98.6 F

How Accurate is the iProven Ear Thermometer?

I'm happy to say that using the iProven Ear Thermometer is a lot like taking a temperature under the arm. I have found that it can be as far off as 1 degree less, but no more. I've noticed when the temperature in our home is lower it registers closer to 1 degree below, but when the temperature is warmer in our house it registers close to accurate.

With it being fall here we are having 55 degree nights with 85 degree afternoons. So when I took my daughter's temperature this morning it registered at 97.6 when her actual temperature in her mouth was 98.6. However yesterday afternoon when the house was warmer her ear temperature was 98.2 when her mouth temperature was 98.6. So basically this is just like taking her temperature under her arm. It gives me a good read of if I need to be worried or not. To me, this is exactly what I am looking for. I want to know if I need to hassle her with a mouth temperature. She hates having her temperature taken in her mouth, so this gives me a way to take it without annoying her so much.

I give the iProven Ear Thermometer a 4 out of 5 star rating. If you'd like to get your own iProven Ear Thermometer you can find it here.

I got this product at a discount in exchange for my willingness to write an unbiased, honest review about this product to help buyers make an informed decision. I am in no way affiliated with this company.
